Byrd Droppings

Questioning the motives of a "desk-bound president who assumes the garb of a warrior," Democratic Sen. Robert Byrd on Tuesday reproached President Bush for flying onto an aircraft carrier last week to declare an end of major fighting in Iraq.

"I am loath to think of an aircraft carrier being used as an advertising backdrop for a presidential political slogan, and yet that is what I saw," Byrd said on the Senate floor.

Let's see...as we approach the 2004 elections, the Democrats have going for them:

1) No agenda/policy
2) Sniping, whining candidates
3) Sour grapes
4) Florid speeches by Senator Pork
5) Investigations by Henry Waxman

Oh yeah that'll work.

You bad.

Did you see Chris Muir's take on Byrd in Day by Day?

I don't pick on the misfortunate...but although Byrd looks distinguished in his 'sheets'...that Waxman guy gives nose holes a bad name... hehe
I can see it now...next November...the headlines read....DEMOCRATS CARRY ONE STATE AND DECLARE CLOSE CONTEST!!

More likely the headlines will read DEMOCRATS CARRY ONE STATE AND DEMAND RECOUNT!

However, one should never underestimate the GOP's ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Although it does seems that it's the Dem who are tone deaf at the moment.

Bush is making a BIG TIME mistake
coming out for a new "assault weapon"
ban. Messin' with the gun people cost
Clinton the Congress in '94, and it
definitely is gonna COST Bush a lot
more than it will gain anything for
him. Maybe Dubya thinks a new bill will
never reach his desk. I hope he's right,
if this is his plan ....

Senator Byrd is Klinton a$$hole parasite. He sees the rim of Bill Klinton's toilet every morning when he wakes up. Senator Byrd's best speech on the Senate floor was about his dog "billy."
