Hill-Billy Heaven

Is it just me or does the Clinton Presidential Library look like a double-wide?

Did you catch Larry King's interview with Hillary before the WJC Presidential Library opening?

H. CLINTON: And it also is open and airy and light. And it kind of conveys the sense of openness in our government.

Yes, and we know how important openness and transparency was to the Clintons in office.

UPDATE: HOWARD KURTZ: "I don't remember anything like all this live coverage when Bush 41 opened his library, do you?"

Yabbut, Bush 41 isn't Elvis now is he?

(Kurtz quote via Glenn)

Have you heard of the "delete" key? When you begin with "Moron" you're outta here. If you would like to present your rebuttal in a civilized manner I'll be happy to respond, but I'm tired of the Left's name-calling bullshit.

Yeah, and your own name-calling is okay though.

Classy.

It's really too bad your credulity led you to delete the link. It might have been enlightening.

Of course, not only would that have sunk your entire callow little rant on the subject, but would further have envolved reading and critical thinking skills.

You are making an ass of yourself. I have no problem with the link, but your lack of civility.

You think you have license to come into my space, piss on the floor and then claim censorship when I show you the door. Your ill-mannered approach serves you ill.

Grow up.

It is interesting to me that many bloggers routinely make statements that are meant to be provocative to those with whom they disagree which tends to result in the like minded to cheer their insight and the opposition to respond in kind. Yet when the predictable emotional outbursts come up, the provocateur all of a sudden gets all self righteous about decorum and civility. I personally don’t condone calling people names, and as far as that goes blogger have the right to edit comments anyway they see fit.

However, if you really want intelligent and thoughtful comments from those with whom you disagree then I would start by being respectful of the views of the opposition rather then making cheap and objectively irrelevant Double Wide comments. But then again if cheap political laughs are all you rally care about then by all means, continue.

My view is that blogger who constituently talk about the willful mendacity of those with opposing viewpoints are inviting bad behavior. But then again it’s difficult to attract readers with thoughtful, balanced, and sober analysis of the significant issues of the day. Rather the masses are more interested in partisan rants that treat opposing viewpoints with scorn and disrespect as if they were conjured up by those with the critical thinking skills of a rock. If you really want civility from commentors opposing views then it is incumbent to treat those views with some respect. If you cannot bring yourself to treating those views with at least a small degree of superficial respect then don’t be surprised when you are attacked with incivility.

My question is do you really want thoughtful discussion from those with opposing viewpoints or do you simply want to expose them as simple minded, clueless, and their views as completely devoid of merit?

Excuse me Rick, but would you like cheese with that whine?

Clinton himself remarked that the library looked like a "house trailer" and laughed.

Kevin began this comment thread with name calling, so exactly who is insulting whom here?

The left has spent the past year calling conservatives Nazis, brownshirts, ignorant, fundie crackers and portraying black conservatives as house niggers and now you're offended?

Too little, too late.
