My Druthers

The two moves I'd most like to see Bush make before the convention?

  • Replace Cheney with Bill Frist. Frist has an admirable humanitarian record, is attractive, politically astute and Southern. His voting record is not too extreme for moderates or Reagan Democrats.

    Bush/Frist would be a killer ticket.

    Goodbye Halliburton baggage, Hello Doctor VP!

  • Move Colin Powell to the UN where he would be much more effective and appoint Condoleeza Rice as Secretary of State.

    A one-two punch that would not only knock the media on it's collective lazy ass, but deflect the dems race card/Left jab.

    be President, and he'd still be

    Yabutt, I think the media would be uncomfortable ragging on Condi if she was head of State...too many PC taboos. Her shadowy role gives them cover to snipe, but once confirmed as SecState she would gain a formidible suit of diplomatic armor. Plus it would be so cool to watch them steam in their pile of PC correctness...would it not?

    Clark followers would do well to take a lesson from General Powell's conversion from competent warrior to a rather timid politican and tepid diplomat. In truth, Eisenhower wasn't an effective President either.

    Now if we coulda had Stormin' Norman instead of Powell...well.
