Yeah, I know the song...we kissed rural California goodbye 30 years ago. One can still see bits of it fleetingly from the corner of your eye...a blossoming remnant of an orchard now adrift in a sea of backyard fences and driveways....images remembered more than seen. Wait a minute. This topic was supposed to cheer me up. Shall I start again?
Take 2: The weather was absolutely wonderful yesterday...decided to take a break...my heart just wasn't in blogging ...needed some face time with nature. Afternoon was sunny and warm...spring is coming...oak buds fatting up. Decidious tree branches a bright shiny mahogany. Almond, plum and cherry trees spread lacy pink and white blossom drifts...bright yellow Mimosa blankets the hills with sweet scent.
Oh! If you see Coastal brand strawberries from Watsonville, CA in the market...buy 'em...they will only be available for a week or so. An old-fashioned variety of early berries from the Monterey area and IMO the tastiest crop of the year.
